Just Like Jesus Devotional by Max Lucado (Book Review)

“Just Like Jesus” devotional is a 30 day walk with Jesus. The devotional guides you through 30 days of living, loving, hearing, talking, and thinking like Jesus.

What a greater role model than our Lord and savior Jesus?

Each day has the daily devotional with scripture, then four sections: thinking, hearing, reflecting, and speaking.

The thinking section has questions you need to answer to make you think about what you just read. This is key because the majority of people read for depth but not necessarily breadth.

Next is the hearing section. It has a scripture that promotes our hearing to what Jesus has in store for us.  Many times we pray and we wonder why God hasn’t answered our prayers. Chances are we are not listening.

In the reflecting section Max Lucado poses a thought provoking question about what we have read in the accompanying verses in the hearing section. It is important for us as Christians to really reflect on God’s word and what it means for our lives.

Then lastly, in the speaking section of the devotional, Max Lucado encourages the reader to speak, or pray, to God.

I really enjoyed the structure of the devotional. Max Lucado is by far the best writer of devotionals that I have come across. I plan to also read the book, “Just Like Jesus”, and read the devotional again as a companion.

I highly recommend this devotional and also get book.
